Upcoming Teachings
with Khenchen Lama Rinpoche Time: Tuesdays, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., ongoing classes, except 4 and 11 Oct (you can attend regularly or drop-in) Location: Old Library, Anglican Chaplaincy, Bangor University, Princes Road, Bangor LL57 2BD Suggested donation: £3 per session (all welcome) These classes are intended for those who seek more balance of mind and body and want to learn about Tibetan Yoga. Tibetan Yoga effectively integrates meditation training with gentle stretches, breathing practices and mantra recitation. The yoga of body improves functioning of the physical body and the inner energy system of the body for better physical and mental health. The yoga of speech refines the 'wind' of breath and is closely related to better functioning of the inner energies. Tibetan yoga of mind uses mediation training to overcome 'bad habits' of thinking and to cultivate more tranquility, compassion and wisdom. The combination of mind training, body yoga and speech yoga enhances the effect of the individual practices. For example, breathing exercises lead to improved functioning of the body and calm down the mind at the same time. Similarly, body yoga helps the practitioner to reduce excessive thinking and improves focus in meditation. The yoga of mind is the core of the practice - where there is healthy mind, balance of inner energies and physical body develop naturally. These classes serve as an introduction to Tibetan Yoga. The yoga sessions are suitable for beginners to meditation and yoga, but can enrich practice of meditators and yoga practitioners at any level. We recommend you to wear comfortable clothing which will not restrict your movement. It is recommended to attend the classes regularly, but drop-ins are welcome as well. ..................................................................................................................................................................................
